New technologies often become available before institutions know how to use them well. The model, platform, payment rail, sensor, or compute cluster may arrive quickly. The systems around it — rules, organizations, workflows, incentives, infrastructure, and accountability — usually adapt more slowly.

Access and adoption are only the beginning; the harder question is whether institutions can use, govern, maintain, and adapt these technologies as they continue to change. AI, compute, digital public infrastructure, and technological sovereignty provide entry points into that broader institutional question.

Yukti is written by Venkat Nadella, whose research and institutional work span technology, governance, and capability formation. He also teaches economics and public policy of AI. Yukti is the public reasoning layer of a broader project spanning comparative institutional analysis, governance stress-tests, and teaching.
